Shop Technician - Motive Power
The Shop Technician is responsible for repairing batteries, chargers and battery handling equipment in the warehouse in a timely and efficient manner. Drives batteries and product to customer’s site.

Test and evaluate customer batteries in a timely manner, prioritize as needed, prepare evaluation reports.
Make repairs and overhaul batteries.
Prep batteries and chargers for shipment (returns, demos, RGA, new, and rental).
Load and unload shipments.
Prep scrap batteries for shipment. Prepare paperwork for shipping.
Perform service calls as requested by Service Supervisor.
Cell teardowns as required by Warranty.
Keep shop area and warehouse clean, safe and organized.
Responsible for Rental Fleet, clean, water, recharge and restock.
Maintain shop supplies, cells, paint, etc. and report to Management needs.
Responsible to receive, store, document, and maintain consignment batteries.
Fill out PIR’s and all related paperwork pertaining to Shop/Warehouse.
Help out on special projects as requested by Management.
Education, Experience, Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent
One year of general laborer or material handling experience.
Battery industry or related experience a plus.
Possess Commercial Drivers License with hazardous material endorsements
Forklift Training Certification
Competencies, Skills, Knowledge
Working knowledge of standard shop tools.
Understanding of basic electricity/electronics in order to troubleshoot the problem.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical manuals.
Effectively communicate with co-workers, customer and management.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to calculate prices accurately when quoting estimates or completion of the work order for billing purposes such as adding, subtracting, percentages and volume.
Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions on the work that needs to be performed.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
