Job Overview: A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a dedicated Criminal Defense Intake Attorney to manage and oversee the intake process for criminal defense cases. The ideal candidate will review potential cases, suggest legal strategies, and coordinate with clients and the sales team.

Duties:

• Monitor the firm’s case management software to vet live cases.
• Review intake sheets and documents submitted by potential clients.
• Identify potential criminal cases and assess their viability.
• Suggest legal strategies and proposed services to potential clients.
• Address legal questions and explain legal processes to potential and existing clients.
• Communicate with the sales team to provide feedback and discuss potential client meetings.
• Oversee intake paralegals and virtual assistants, ensuring effective case management and client support.
• Speak with existing clients about potential services outside of their current contract.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience in Criminal Defense Law.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward effectively.
• Experience with criminal defense, intake, or post-conviction relief.
• Experience with case management software is preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in California.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and legal research abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in case management software.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, paralegals, and sales teams.
• High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
