Network Security Engineer
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrate excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast pace environment while maintaining attention to detail
Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot information security systems in an enterprise network
Under the guidance of the Communications Security Manager, serves as a high level support for wan and voice groups
Responsible for data center design, implementation, reporting, and troubleshooting
Configure, monitor, and maintain network security devices including firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Prevention, SIM, NAC, AAA
Configure and troubleshoot Routers, Switches, DNS and Load Balancers, Voice Gateways, VoIP, Wireless
Diagnose complex software and communications issues utilizing network traffic analyzers and other tools
Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain VPN accounts
Monitor and assist in the investigation of security alerts
Assume Project Manager role in select projects and lab environments in the absence of Communications Security Manager
Assume Technical Lead role as required
On-call availability and travel as necessary
Occasional inspection of cables and wiring in floors and ceilings
Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as telecommunications equipment and peripherals
All other duties as assigned
Education
College degree in MIS or CIS preferred
Technology Certifications preferred
Experience
4 years of experience with Cisco Security Devices including ASA, IDS/IPS, NAC
Advanced knowledge of the installation, implementation, and maintenance of Cisco routers and switches
Advanced knowledge of VPN, Spanning Tree, HSRP, NAT, VLANs, DMVPN, QOS, OSPF and EIGRP routing protocols
Working technical knowledge of Linux and windows operating systems, and standards
Adept at reading and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals
Ability to conduct research into telecommunications issues and products
