Profile

The Retail Banking Leadership Development Program is designed to prepare our next generation of Branch Management and Sales Professionals. This program is for enthusiastic and committed candidates that are genuinely interested in a banking career with an emphasis on branch management and sales. This 36 month experiential-based program will provide a solid banking foundation through various training rotations to develop a deep understanding of critical branch functions including teller, sales, service and management. Selected candidates will be active participants in mentoring programs to gain the technical, professional, and sales skills required to move forward on a path to becoming a leader within the organization.

They will interface with various departments of the organization and focus on developing relationships with both internal and external customers throughout FAB. This is an hourly (non-exempt) position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Master each of the technical and system functions required of each position within the rotations including: teller transactions, customer accounts, advanced customer service call inquiries, lending, branch sales networking and more.

Successfully advance through Personal Banker, Senior Personal Banker, Assistant Branch Manager and Branch Manager training programs by earning an overall exceeds rating on performance appraisal.

Display exemplary professionalism both internally and with external customers throughout the training process.

Handle customer issues, problem solving and fee reversal requests; works towards improving branch profitability by making sound authorization approvals. Adhere to and uphold all written policies and procedures.

Actively participate in growing, serving and retaining the branch customer portfolio.

Engage in sales activities in the areas of Mortgage, Home Equity loans and Deposit products with customers in person and over the phone.

Partner with other areas of the bank to promote: Business Banking, Wealth Management, Treasury Management and Merchant Services.

Demonstrate relationship sales strategies that yield positive results.

Display the leadership qualities required of the management function, which include but are not limited to promoting teamwork and employee participation, communicating effectively, managing and coaching team and individual performance, selecting, retaining, and developing qualified employees, providing employee performance evaluations and feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS:

College Degree preferred with a focus in Business, Finance or Accounting a plus.

Display superior Interpersonal and analytical skills.

Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Demonstrate interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and confidence when speaking with other employees and external customers.

Experience with cash handling and customer service a plus.

Familiarity with word processing programs preferred. Knowledge of spreadsheets and bank systems a plus.

Must be willing to travel to First American Bank locations throughout the Chicagoland area.

Must be available to work all hours of bank operation. Most Branch locations are open for business six days a week, Monday through Saturday. Must be able to work a flexible schedule as scheduling may vary week to week.

This position will require the individual to take loan applications and close loans. This position will require the employee to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) in order to comply with the federal Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act) and Regulation Z. Registration may consist of submission of personal information such as home address, social security number, gender, date and place of birth, employment history, among other things. Registration also requires employees to submit fingerprints and submit to a criminal background check. Renewal of the registration requirements may be required periodically throughout the term of the employment. Experience: Minimum one year of teller or customer service experience.
