Job Description:

What is the role?

Supply & Trading Operations for the mogas / Avgas team is accountable for execution of all movements on the mogas / Avgas trade books in STUSCO. In terms of product slate, this includes both domestic and international finished grades of gasoline, gasoline blending components, and Avgas. Source points for product include refineries (equity and 3rd party) and biofuels plants, traded hub locations, and product already in transit. Modes of transport managed include marine (both Jones Act as well as foreign flag vessels, with multiple charter agreement structures), pipeline, rail, and road transport.

Responsible for safe, compliant, and efficient execution of movements in support of trade book contractual agreements.

Responsible to optimize deal execution within deal limits, in terms of both cost minimization and margin maximization.

Effectively communicate with traders, schedulers, and other team members to develop logistical solutions to ensure optimal deal execution.

Responsible for finished gasoline, gasoline component, and Avgas cargo operations, both domestic and international.

Responsible for managing product quality parameters/specifications to both ensure compliance with contractual terms as well as maximize profitability.

Responsible for ensuring all data pertaining to scheduling, customs, claims/demurrage, and loss/gains are accurately recorded in Trading systems in a timely manner to enable efficient handling by the relevant service departments.

Responsible for keeping adequate records to meet the company’s legal and fiscal obligations, as well as making any required regulatory filings (Customs, etc).

Responsible for daily updating/ monthly reconciling of inventory at terminals and adhering to end of month processes.

Interact with oil and freight counter-parties in regards to post-deal activities and ensure documentary requirements are met.

Manage a solid networking foundation amongst key internal and external contacts, including but not limited to suppliers, customers, and logistical service providers.

Provide back-up coverage to other team schedulers as outlined by line manager for coverage planning.

What we need from you

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Bachelor’s degree is required or equivalent of years of experience.

At least 2 years of experience in Marine.

Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in Products operations, trading, shipping, or logistics strongly preferred.

Familiarity with products traded by STUSCO and logistical networks utilized by STUSCO strongly preferred.

Ability to multi-task effectively and meet critical deadlines.

Ability to make risk-based and well-reasoned decisions with uncertain information and in the face of material financial risk and operational stress.

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and within a team environment with minimal supervision

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as sound approach for stakeholder management

Knowledge of gasoline blending fundamentals a differentiator

Additional Information:

This position is 24x7 in terms of desk coverage and requires significant off-hours support of movements. Accessibility via phone is required at all times.

This position has operational pressure and working stress, which the successfully candidate should be aware of in terms of a dimensions.

The desk is located on an open trade floor.
