Billing Specialist — Atlanta
The Billing Specialist is an important member of the Accounting Department that is primarily responsible for handling all aspects of the firm’s client billing cycle, including working with attorneys and legal assistants on production of the bills through conventional and electronic billing submission to clients.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate invoice preparation and distribution via mail and email
Assist with obtaining cost back up for invoices
Assist with submission of electronic bills using various e-billing systems (including processing appeals and error message handling)
Analyze and run billing reports
Work with Collections department to resolve accounts receivable issues
Assist with general Accounting departmental functions
Provide assistance to attorneys and legal assistants
nvestigate inquiries providing timely responses
Complete special projects and analysis as directed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
Minimum of one (1) year of electronic billing experience in a law firm environment
Experience using Aderant financial systems preferred
Understanding of general accounting principles and practices
Effective time management with ability to multi-task and shift priorities successfully to meet necessary deadlines
Ability to work under pressure
Strong client service skills and the ability to follow client specific protocols
Solid organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional demeanor with energetic attitude
