Manager of Staff Development and Training
Duties: Collaborate with the Director of Talent Development & Training and firm leaders to assess needs and create, implement, and manage the next level of core skills staff training; create metrics to evaluate training return on investment and better communicate program linkages, goals, and outcomes. Collaborate with the Director of Talent Development & Training and firm leaders to design and implement legal support staff training curricula. Manage planning, organization and delivery of legal support staff training programs, including faculty recruitment, scheduling, promotion, program logistics and post-program review. Track metrics and manage budget. Collaborate with Director of Talent Development & Training, consult with Department Leaders to assess training needs and evaluate substantive and core skills training programs. Review and update existing course content and curricula, including core skills training (writing, delegation, communications, etc.) to staff. Working closely with Information Technology (IT) and Finance (Accounting) to create focused training programs and initiatives for technology-related trainings. Contribute to development of best practices materials; manage staff resources and training content on the firm’s Learning Management Systems and Talent Development & Training intranet sites. Make recommendations regarding the use of and selection of outside consultants to tailor training programs to meet specific firm needs. Monitor external trends and best practices in law firm training; codify insights and recommendations in areas including staff development paths, training, staffing, mentoring, feedback, and compensation. Contribute to other Talent Development & Training initiatives and programs as requested.
