A Microsoft 365 (M365) tenant is a unique address space for each enterprise within Microsoft’s Cloud. Essentially, Shell is renting space, as a tenant, to manage the Microsoft 365 service. The Tenant Admin IT Ops Lead is responsible for the Microsoft 365 Tenant operations (including Azure AD) and responsible for the daily delivery of service, including communications, to the Business in line with agreed service levels, managing priorities and escalations.

What’s the role?

As The IT Site Operations Lead for M365, you will act as the Information & Digital Services and Operations (IDSO) interface towards the Business Services and Operations Management’s (SOM) (IT budget holder), IDSO Core Operations and Suppliers and maintains constructive relationships with key stakeholders, whilst still being able to challenge where needed.

You will manage the operational lifecycle of the landscape and is responsible for compliance with the relevant information security, IT controls and legal and regulatory requirements. Furthermore, you will need to have a strong Security & Compliance focus being able to support the legal and cyber defence teams working in the tenant. You will also be accountable for providing support and guidance for the implementation of Microsoft Information Protection in Office 365 as well as further Security & Compliance toolsets.

In this role, you are expected to manage Supportability & Transition for new demand, changes and projects impacting the portfolio. You will also work across internal and external service providers and suppliers, as well as staff to ensure the service meets commitments and the business needs.

You will also be responsible to manage DevOps processes to introduce improvements and changes to the IT environment

Your further accountabilities include:

Service support for M365 Security and Compliance administration center(s).

Support the roll-out of the Microsoft Information Protection solution.

Design and implement process automations and service improvements.

Service Monitoring and management.

Service Reporting based on Shell and 3rd party agreements.

Azure AD Administration and User Account Management.

Microsoft 365 Delegation Model support.

Single sign on configuration management and support Shell owned federated domain configuration within the Microsoft 365 tenant only.

Monitor AAD synchronization (At the tenant only).

Trouble-shoot and resolve AAD synchronizations issues (Within the tenant only).

License monitoring and management.

Service license enablement / disablement (automation).

Monitor Microsoft Message Center and Service Health, planning and implementing end-user consumer communications as required.

Troubleshoot and resolve service-related issues.

Resolve escalated user issues.

Escalate issues to Microsoft Support.

Develop and deliver customized training covering tenant Administration, associated tools, to improve adoption of new features.

Audit reporting and support.

Analyze, assess and approve new integration requests and advise on best practice/approach.

Provide support to Azure platform teams where required.

Support maintenance and implementation of Azure solutions.

What we need from you?

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

At least a bachelor’s degree, preferably related to IT or business operations,

Minimum of 8 - 12 years in IT with recent technical administration, developer or business analyst experience.

Ability to operate in a global, virtual cross-cultural organization, working in different time zones.

Strong technical awareness specifically in the Microsoft Security and Compliance space, Microsoft Information Protection, system administration and/or technical architecture.

Knowledge of the new Microsoft Security Roadmap and ability to determine how these changes will be impacting the tenant landscape.

Strong agile project management/ business analyst skills, able to analyse situations quickly and devise a response.

Excellent problem solving, decision-making, and investigative skills

Experienced in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees and customers.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences at various levels in the organization.

Preferred Skills and competencies:

Awareness of ITIL and DevOps methodologies.

Experience with PowerShell code and Azure (automation) components.

Beneficial to have experience with IT project management, coordination or participation.

Ability to influence others and work through others to deliver the desired results.

Previous experience of operating in a large, global organization.
