Assistant General Counsel
The candidate will be responsible for legal and corporate governance in support of firm’s global strategic opportunities and business objectives in general, and specifically with respect to the Design, Engineering & Construction teams in North America and Europe. In addition, to providing excellent legal expertise and support, will bring a proactive, business and solution-oriented mindset to legal matters, an enterprise lens and a proven ability to work collaboratively across the organization. Duties : Support firm and be a strategic partner by providing practical, business-focused and sound legal advice to the firm’s Design, Engineering & Construction teams in North America and Europe. Provide proactive and strategic level advice that enables firm to achieve its business and strategic objectives while fully and appropriately managing legal risk. Manage the legal work for complex business transactions and agreements for Design, Engineering & Construction matters with consultants, suppliers, contractors, and vendors in multiple jurisdictions. Will be responsible for supporting all legal matters involving the Design, Engineering & Construction teams in North America and Europe, including negotiating agreements, dispute resolution, governance and contract management, and managing outside counsel. Identify and assess legal risks to address and minimize such risks in an efficient fashion to maximize achievement of the Design, Engineering & Construction teams’ business objectives. Implement global legal strategy supporting the Design, Engineering & Construction teams, including contract management and governance while adhering to project deadlines. Responsible for legal work and supervision of outside counsel associated with development, engineering, and construction projects, including professional services agreements, supplier contracts, master agreements, and purchase orders. Work with the Design, Engineering & Construction teams to develop and support streamlined project management plans and manage overall costs.
