Job Description

Norfolk Southern recruits for a wide variety of roles from conductors to software developers, police officers to electricians, and operations supervisors to interns. As a Corporate Recruiter, you will directly support departmental staffing objectives and the corporation’s goal to hire, train and promote a diverse workforce.

The ideal candidate will be able to analyze large data sets, present data in a meaningful way and tell a story with the metrics which will inform and drive our strategy. Principal duties include:

Coordinate logistics and participate in recruiting events, including booking conference room space, inviting candidates, interviewing, and organizing and shipping necessary materials

Conduct data analysis, data mining, and data manipulation to understand company needs and devise possible solutions

Perform ad hoc analysis to answer key business questions

Provide insights through clear and concise presentations that inspire action

Develop, automate, maintain and deliver weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly HR metrics and dashboards

Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through relationship building and collaboration across departments

Serve as knowledgeable ambassador at job fairs and community outreach events

Develop and maintain contacts with schools, alumni groups and other public organizations to find and attract applicantsKnowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

Experience with to analytical tools and/or quantitative business analysis

General understanding of HR business processes and practices

Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
