The candidate will leverage knowledge of academic research and technology transfer to identify partnering opportunities, negotiate partnerships, and build collaborations with universities for preclinical drug discovery and commercialization. Leverage your knowledge of academic technology transfer and licensing to identify partnering opportunities. Grow a robust network of relationships with academic institutions and researchers. Negotiate diverse types of contracts and business models. Build trust and strong collaborations. Recognize opportunities in early stage academic research and identify potential paths to commercialization. Educate potential partners about our technology and understand how it might be applied to their specific drug development program. Present at conferences and meetings. Create and develop research plans with our chemistry team. Required: 7+ years experience in academic tech transfer or in external innovation for a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company, Experience managing a team. Extensive experience negotiating complex contracts, including intellectual property provisions. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or a related field. Preferred: Experience in sell-side negotiations for pharma deals or licensing assets from universities. Experience reviewing and editing contracts. Masters or Ph.D. in a scientific discipline, MBA, MD or JD. Knowledge of small molecule drug discovery and development. A network of existing relationships in pharma and biotech.
