Civil Litigation Paralegal
The candidate will assist and provide a wide range of legal support to the supervising attorney(s). These duties include maintaining files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, communicating with clients and other parties involved in the cases, etc. Will conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and articles. Organize and maintain documents in the physical file and in the firm’s document Management software. Gather, maintain current and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation. Write reports to help attorneys prepare for trial. Obtain affidavits and other formal documents/statements that may be used as evidence in court. Assist lawyers during trials by handling exhibits, taking notes, or reviewing trial transcripts. File exhibits, briefs, appeals, and other legal documents (after a lawyer has reviewed and approved) with the court or opposing counsel. Reach out to clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, or depositions.
