The candidate will negotiate, draft, and review a variety of production deals including first-look, option, development, rights acquisition, production services, and above-the-line talent agreements, as well as licensing agreements. Communicate and coordinate with internal departments and third parties to gather information and specifications pertaining to content production and licensing contracts. Advice key company departments on potential risks and issues (copyright, trademark, clearances, compliance, privacy, distribution). Analyze rights, chain of title, review copyright, trademark use, and clearances. Advice on all complex production legal-related issues. Remain current in legal requirements and best practices regarding production and content licensing in the United States, Mexico and Latin America. Must possess a JD or LL.M. Member of a U.S. State Bar or license in Mexico in good standing. Should have 4+ years of relevant experience in the entertainment industry at a law firm, television network, streaming services and/or studio. Extensive knowledge of negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and analyzing a wide variety of entertainment agreements, including licensing, development, and production deals. Production experience in the US and LATAM (Spain is a plus). Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Strong judgment and the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time. Fluent in Spanish. Excellent drafting and negotiating skills. Strong work ethic with the ability to juggle a large volume of work efficiently and with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills to develop working relationships. Proven ability to exercise proper judgment to assess priorities, and flexibility to manage a wide range of matters.
