Legal Product Counsel
The candidate will be partner with the product and technology organization to understand the strategic needs and goals of the business. Counsel and guide product management, development, engineering, support and marketing teams on a variety of issues, including commercial terms, privacy, data protection, and global regulatory compliance matters throughout the entire product development lifecycle. Draft clear and concise agreements, public facing disclosures, disclaimers, terms of use and other public facing customer documents. Lead complex technology transactions by negotiating and drafting commercial and licensing agreements relevant products and services. Review and interpret third party posted terms to guide the product teams and ensure Workday’s compliance. Provide pragmatic, day-to-day strategic advice that takes into account legal risk, product adoption, and advancing business goals and initiatives. Help develop commercial strategy for new products. Should have a J.D. Degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least 1 state bar. Must have 4+ years of national law firm or in-house/public sector legal department work experience with a combination of general transactional experience and product counseling (at least 1 year). Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize and work independently. Critical thinker, problem solver. Strong attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong teammate with ability to collaborate with attorneys, business leaders and colleagues of varying backgrounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-output, team oriented, practical environment.
