The Sr. Director of Global Strategic Innovation is the

upstream marketing and business strategy leader responsible for maximizing

revenue, market share, and profitability through the development of

insight-driven product pipelines. S/he is responsible for institutionalizing

the innovation process and generating new business and product concepts to

drive from inception through development and ultimately to successful market

launch. The position will provide leadership and guidance to Marketing, R&D,

and Business Development teams to identify and execute on near, mid, and

long-term product, service, and solution strategies. This position provides leadership

during the product development process as it relates to market needs, portfolio

prioritization, opportunity sizing, pricing models, competitive considerations,

and clear customer requirements. The Sr. Director of Global Strategic

Innovation is a key member of the Breast and Skeletal Health Solutions

divisional management team and maintains a critical role in the development of

long-term growth strategy and product roadmaps.

 

Summary

of Duties and Responsibilities

 

The Sr. Director of Global Strategic Innovation will have a

wide variety of responsibilities and duties related to the delivery of new ideas

as well as building innovation process and capabilities within the Breast and

Skeletal Health Solutions division:

 

·       

Responsible for the strategic advisory board (SAB) program --

 developing content, profiling KOLs, program structure, managing the

execution of the SABs

·       

Accountable

for the development and execution of the divisional global product pipeline

·       

Accountable for the development and institutionalization

of innovation and ideation process, as well as the discipline of capturing and

prioritizing customer requirements

·       

Accountable,

along with the VP, Global Marketing, for the creation of the division’s

strategic plan in regards to anticipating future market trends and strategic opportunities        

·       

Accountable to identify new markets, product

extensions, and/or applications that will support continued business unit

growth

·       

Accountable for division market analytics – developing

market models to support strategic plan and franchises, identifying data

sources, managing industry reporting

·       

Consult and guide business development strategic

opportunity assessment and prioritization; inform buy vs. build decision making

·       

Accountable for tracking key metrics around upstream

programs for strategic prioritization

·       

Consult

and guide  divisional Franchise (e.g.,

breast imaging solutions, interventional solutions, visualization/storage

solutions, connectivity/workflow solutions, ultrasound solutions, skeletal

solutions) and Marketing teams to develop and strengthen the division’s new product

and sustaining product pipeline

·       

Consult and guide Brand and Marketing teams in the definition,

depth and breadth of product portfolio, target customers, distribution,

pricing, and competitive position strategies

·       

Consult and guide divisional Franchise and Marketing teams using global

insights as they develop product pipeline and customer requirements definitions:

o  

Identification and prioritization of unmet needs

across key customer stakeholder groups (including, but not limited to, hospital

administrators, health care professionals, patients, payers)

o  

Ideation of winning concepts in synch with business

goals and performance metrics

o  

Definition of core value drivers and product

positioning

o  

Identification of target markets and customers

o  

Identification of channel strategy

o  

Identification and prioritization of global launch

markets

o  

Global demand forecasting, pricing, and margin

targets for initial new product business cases

o  

Development of business cases and justification for

new product concepts, features or configurations','!*!Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are

necessary

·       

Strong analytical ability

·       

Team player with demonstrated leadership skills

 

 

 

Education

 

·       

Bachelor’s degree in business or a scientific

discipline is required

·       

MBA is required

 

 

Experience

 

·       

10 years of healthcare innovation management

experience is required

·       

Relevant experience in marketing, strategy, technical

fields and other applicable areas/industries will be considered

·       

Experience with recurring revenue models/SaaS is

strongly preferred
