Responsibilities

The Medicaid Product Strategy & Optimization's

purpose is to accelerate the ideation and development of transformational initiatives that maximize customer value to create a differentiated value proposition for Humana's Medicaid segment. As a centrally positioned strategic function this team coordinates with Medicaid executive leadership to manage an innovation portfolio tailored to capture business objectives. This team collaborates with business units across the enterprise to set actionable strategy and support transformational initiatives through ideation, concept development to launch. We deliver value through detailed research, data-driven insights, strategic planning, structured problem solving, and project management rigor.

The Principal,

Medicaid Product Discovery

(Principal, Strategy Advancement) is an experienced health care strategist with responsibility for consulting with executive leadership to synthesize the marketplace, identify white space opportunities, drive discovery of transformational products and build actionable go to market strategies.

Candidates will possess broad Medicaid Managed Care expertise, possess working knowledge of contemporary healthcare technology and have a proven track record of discovering new products to advance health plan operations.

Key responsibilities include:

Coordinate and oversee discovery of new product solutions and strategic partnerships that advance Humana Medicaid's operating model to capture business objectives

Partner with Medicaid and enterprise business units to understand customer needs and identify white space opportunities

Conduct in depth research into emerging solutions, industry trends, regulatory landscape and changing customer needs to capture present problems and opportunities, as well as anticipate market disruptors

Synthesize insights and consult with business units to determine priority use cases and solution criteria​

Coordinate stakeholders through a staged vendor evaluation framework to expedite the vetting process and ensure selection of the strongest vendors in the marketplace

Influence executive leadership to pursue new products through strong analysis, business case development and strategy articulation

Establish product direction and roadmaps, informed by customer and business needs, partnering with stakeholders across the organization to drive alignment

Provide support as needed through test and learns, and bringing a minimum viable product to market​

Champion a startup mindset and adoption of agile ways of working across the Medicaid segment to design, develop and deliver differentiated experiences for our customers

Employ empathy and human centered design thinking to define scalable product solutions by deep knowledge of internal and external customers digital learning and education habits

Form collaborative working relationships with Humana corporate strategy and product partners such as Digital, Population Health, Care Delivery to inform and advance Medicaid Product Strategy

Manage a collaborative forum to build and share knowledge across the Medicaid segment of efforts ongoing to connect with innovative companies and strategic partners

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with a strong record of academic achievement

5 years healthcare experience

5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in strategic/advisory services,

Experience and understanding of healthcare data and analytics, contemporary technologies, managed care administrative functions and care delivery models

Adept at quantitative and qualitative research

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience in executive presentation and communication

Ability to operate in a faced paced environment under tight deadlines

Flexible scheduling (i.e. - occasional nights and weekends)

Preferred Qualifications

MBA programs with a specialization in Healthcare Management

Master's Degree in Public Health programs

Experience at a leading strategy consulting firm

Medicaid managed care experience

Experience with human centered design and agile product management methodologies

Project Management and Process Improvement qualifications

Additional Information

Role will include travel (10-25% of time). EST time zone is highly preferred for location and working hours

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.
