El Paso office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks associate attorney with 5+ years of legal experience. The candidate interprets and provides advice on migration, citizenship issues, political asylum, and the processes through which clients may secure visas. Handles an immigration caseload that includes affirmative and the occasional defensive filing. Uses creative and aggressive legal strategies to gain legal status for clients. Assists with litigation where necessary, including post-conviction relief. Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations in legal documents. Research complex legal issues and develop and execute creative legal strategies in evolving or new areas of law. Review and approve files, pleadings, settlements, and any other legal work product produced by paralegals and legal assistants. Assist with litigation where necessary, including post-conviction relief. Handle an immigration caseload that includes affirmative and the occasional defensive filing. The caseload consists primarily of VAWA, T, U, motion practice, AOS, Cuban Adjustment Act, and some asylum and consular processing cases. Communicate effectively with USCIS, other immigration agencies, clients, and teammates. Maintain a consistent attendance record and availability, whether in office or remote. Prior supervisory or management experience is preferred. Immigration law and litigation experience is preferred. Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred. High level of MS Office Suite/Google Suite, including Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc. essential. Must have a valid license and current membership in the Bar in any U.S. State.
