Responsible for the maintenance, accessibility and ongoing collection development of the Howard Community College Archives. Collects materials, as noted in the Archives mission. Digitize materials, including photographs or video, not delivered in digital format and updates digital database of materials for access by college community using CONTENTdm, digital collection management software from OCLC. Maintains hard copy of materials as needed. Provides reference and instructional outreach services to the HCC community including teaching faculty and students.
Requirements:
Master's Degree in Library Science and/or Information Science from an ALA accredited institution with an Archives concentration.
Knowledge of basic archival principles and practices, including preservation, digitization, reference principles, and relevant hardware and software applications.
Performs all duties while considering the impact of any actions on the college’s sustainability initiatives in the areas of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic prosperity.
Preferred Qualification:
1 year archival experience including digitization projects.
