Director, Production Legal and Business Affairs

The candidate will structure, negotiate, draft and manage agreements for the development, production, financing, acquisition, distribution and outbound licensing of unscripted theatrical, TV and streaming content, including co-financing/co-production agreements, production services agreements, above-the-line agreements (producers, directors), security agreements and related documents. Handle business and legal aspects of day-to-day development and production matters in close collaboration with various internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, tax, music, post-production, distribution, marketing, PR), outside counsel, and third-party producers. Provide timely, solution-oriented advice on a wide range of development and production-related issues, including business terms, intellectual property rights, privacy, music, clearances, guild/union and labor issues, insurance, credits and delivery. Advise the Company on a variety of music-related issues; coordinate music clearances with internal and external music clearance specialists. Work closely with business and creative executives to implement best practices, formulate new processes, and create and revise agreement templates. Assist with all aspects of legal administration record keeping and tracking. Analyze library rights and advise with respect to third-party rights, participation, and post-theatrical exploitation rights.
