Staff Attorney
The candidate will practice civil law for eligible clients, provide advice for eligible clients, supervise and work with legal paraprofessionals, participate in community legal education, and attend and coordinate clinics or other events as requested by the Branch or Team manager. Collaborate with local agencies and community partners, including domestic violence and sexual assault survivor centers. Should have experience in family law litigation and working with survivors of trauma, including in a law school clinic setting, is preferred. Enthusiasm for direct client services and litigation. Trial experience is preferred. Must be highly organized and have strong written and oral advocacy skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with non-attorneys, be self-motivated and able to work independently. Local travel to multiple Texas counties is expected. Must be licensed to practice law in Texas or willing to take the next available Texas bar exam. Written and oral fluency in the Spanish language is preferred. Maintain continuing legal education requirements.
