The candidate should have 2-5 years of significant experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the chemical arts, materials science, and/or biotechnology. An advanced degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science and/or the life sciences and/or will have considerable industry experience in at least one of these technical fields. Technology transaction experience is also preferred. Should be registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, admitted to practice law in one or more states, and willing to become barred in North Carolina and/or South Carolina.
