Duties
- Develop and implement estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax plans
- Draft and review wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents
- Coordinate multistate estate administrations and trust administrations
- Advise clients on business succession planning and tax-efficient ownership transfers
- Conduct federal and state tax research and prepare detailed memoranda
- Represent clients in IRS and Massachusetts Department of Revenue audits and appeals
- Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to client development initiatives
Requirements
- 11 years of specialized experience in estate planning and federal and state tax law
- Active admission to the Massachusetts Bar
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex client engagements and deadlines
- Proven track record with high-value estate and gift tax matters
- Exceptional analytical, drafting, and client-communication skills
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications
- Active Massachusetts Bar admission
Skills
- Advanced proficiency with tax research tools (CCH, RIA, Bloomberg Tax)
- Expertise in drafting complex estate-planning instruments and tax memoranda
- Strong project management and leadership abilities
- Excellent oral advocacy and presentation skills
- Familiarity with estate-planning software (e.g., WealthDocx, Drafting Docs)
