Responsibilities
The Telecom Engineer supports an enterprise contact center environment made up of best in class telephony applications. This position employs recognized best practices to minimize unplanned service outages and maintain facility availability. This position may coordinate with other IT functional areas on systems upgrades or modifications, to minimize disruptions. This position troubleshoots more complex problems that have escalated within the telecommunications function. This position may lead initiatives consisting of telecommunications professionals involved in the design of complex configurations or in the evaluation and administration of the telecommunications system.
The Telecom Engineer's primary function is to support Humana's Avaya Solutions. However, there will be opportunities to be involved with projects and support involving several other telephony platforms and solutions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field OR equivalent experience in lieu of degree
3  years of Avaya centric telephony experience within an enterprise contact center environment
Preferred Qualifications
5  years supporting and of the following Avaya technologies: CM, AES, CMS & AAEP
Knowledge and understanding of Telephony Transport solutions and technologies
