Keiser University's E-campus is the online division of Keiser University, one of the largest independent universities in Florida. E-campus programs include Associate's, Bachelor's and Master's Degrees.
The Assistant Bursar manages student accounts which includes billing and accounts receivables. Some students do not receive full funding coverage from government loans, grants, and scholarships and therefore must arrange to pay the balance. The Bursar handles the payment of this balance and ensures cash payment plans are arranged and payments are collected in a timely manner. Other tasks include general administrative functions and third party billing.
Ensure student account information is accurate and up-to-date
Monitor past-due accounts and determine strategy for collecting past-due payments
Call/send letters to students who are past-due and not currently attending class
Apply charges and process payments
Prepare daily deposits for bank and daily bank report
Monitor cash flow by running weekly balance reports to monitor credit and debit balances
Determine eligibility for refunds and tuition reimbursement
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Business planning - how to organize financial data; develop and follow a systematic approach to tracking finances; and organize time
Goal setting - set reasonable, yet high targets, and create a plan for attaining those targets
Monitoring - track current and past due payments.
Assistant Bursars must have a minimum of an Associate's Degree, 1 to 2 years of general office/collections experience, and the willingness to work with other departments and students.
This is a full time position that requires day, evening and weekend availability. Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.
