Associate General Counsel, Software & Data
The candidate will guide the legal strategy for developing and fast growing business groups and initiatives focused on software, content creation and data. Will partner closely with those business groups, participating in their regular meetings, advising on the development and launch of new products and technologies and developing a legal strategy to support business objectives. Engage cross functional teams to proactively identify legal issues and identify creative solutions to help achieve business objectives. Advise on a range of regulations and compliance requirements, with a focus on privacy, global requirements for consumer protection, data security and content policy. Support product and marketing efforts balancing customer and policy considerations. Develop and manage implementation of customer disclosures, terms of use and privacy policy. Provide support on partnership and/or M&A transactions for relevant business groups. Collaborate across our global legal team to improve processes, educate and inform about relevant legal issues and help drive efficient resolution of legal issues. Build and develop a team of lawyers to support these business groups and address novel legal issues. should have deep understanding of software, content and data-related businesses and an ability to guide clients with clear, practical and actionable advice. Must have experience with early stage and growing businesses and are able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Experience in legal areas including privacy, data protection, content regulation and consumer protection are essential for this role. 7+ years of relevant private practice and in house experience advising companies on privacy, consumer protection data security and content regulation is required. Bar admission in good standing in applicable state is required. should have exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
