General Summary:This position is the implementation owner and partners with Field National Practice Sales Consultants and National Client Managers (NCM). Responsibilities include implementation of Unum’s large complex National Client business – >2000 employee lives for Group and VB. A primary accountability is to develop and execute customer focused solutions that align with Unum Service and Benefits capabilities that ultimately ensure that customer expectations are defined and met. This position is responsible for establishing relationships with internal business partners that promote effective implementation of National Client Group cases. This position is part of the new HR Connect Operations team and will be implementing products and services for customers who are also onboarding one or more of the HR Connect solutions at the same time.

Management of complex Large Case Implementations for NCG customers for all products and services including cross platform products and new offerings, divisions, plan administrators and locations.

Initiates, designs, and delivers communication process.

Develops and executes a formalized implementation project plan, requirements/objectives and strategy, customized and consistent with customer specifications stated in the RFP

Establishes and monitors implementation controls and checkpoints.

Serves as the primary contact for NCM, NCG Sales Specialist, client, Enrollment firms and brokers during the implementation process.

Leverage strong internal partnerships to ensure successful implementation and drives service resolutions that are part of the implementation requirements

Facilitate training and mentoring programs for unit, peers, cross-functional teams and Field Offices, sharing knowledge, best practices, project management skills, and implementation tools.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and offering development for National Client customers.

Positions and deliver Unum’s Implementation Services and Customer Service offering in such a way that it becomes a competitive advantage for the National Client Group customer market (i.e. National Brokerage Houses, National Practice Leaders, National Client prospects, etc.)

Increase closing ratios of new National Client business through pre-sale activities:

Key role in finalist presentations.

Consultation services to NCG Sales Consultants and NCM’s and Acquisition Analysts in responding to National Client Requests for Proposal (RFP), Underwriting, etc.

Enhance and maximize eCommerce solutions that enhance service delivery and streamline internal processing. Work with systems team to deliver solutions for National Client customers:

Electronic Forms

Electronic Booklet Delivery

Self-Insured Eligibility File Transfer

Customized eCommerce Service Delivery

Web-site Development

Job Specifications

4 year college degree or equivalent experience required

Proven ability as a project manager with a track record of driving customer solutions

In depth knowledge of Unum’s products and services, business workflow, technology, financial offerings, benefits process, billing and administration processes, legal implications and taxation.

Understanding of external trends and marketplace issues relating to large employer marketplace.

Effectively develop relationships and negotiate strategically with customer management and tactically with customer’s benefit personnel.

Knowledge of employee benefits issues as they impact the customer. Requires in-depth knowledge of Unum products and services impacting employee benefit plans and HR administration such as Workers’ Compensation, pensions, health care, and legislation.

Comprehensive knowledge of eCommerce and Web based solutions supporting benefit plan administration.

Strong knowledge of the insurance business, product offerings, external drivers and corresponding workflow processes

Strong collaboration skills; demonstrated ability to partner at all levels with cross-functional business areas on both a strategic and tactical levels to achieve results with multiple and diverse priorities

Effectively achieves results through innovation and initiative. Adapts quickly to new challenges

Able to effectively weigh competing options and makes tough, timely decisions. Works well under pressure, managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines

Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Strong understanding of market dynamics with ability to favorably position and represent Unum to external constituents preferred

Travel required
