Tax Manager – International Tax - Private Client Services
The candidate will provide compliance, planning, and consulting services to expatriate and foreign national tax clients as well as multi-generational high wealth families with cross-border businesses and investments. Serve as role models for staff and seniors, displaying professionalism, reliability, and integrity at all times. Participate in client meetings and collaborate with the team to deliver high quality services that meet or exceed client expectations. Timely and effectively explain tax objectives, budget information, and other relevant engagement information to staff and seniors. Prepare and review U.S. federal and state returns for U.S. residents, expatriates, and foreign nationals. Adhere to reporting requirements related to foreign income, foreign trusts, foreign tax credits, foreign assets, and controlled foreign corporations. Work closely with foreign tax advisors to eliminate or minimize double taxation. Advise employers on payroll and tax matters related to their mobile employees on international assignment. Assist with preparation of IRS Streamlined and Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program (OVDP) filings for clients disclosing foreign assets and income through IRS amnesty programs. Work will include federal and state individual income tax returns, fiduciary income tax returns, gift tax returns, and estate tax returns. Provide seniors and staff with timely, honest, and constructive feedback and serves as a formal and/or informal mentor to staff as appropriate. CPA or JD (MST or LLM in Taxation is a plus) is required. Should have 5+ years of experience providing tax compliance and planning services to high net worth individuals and family groups. Experience with expatriate taxation and foreign trust would be a plus.
