Junior Attorney
The candidate will perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys. Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff. Collaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently. Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings. Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action. Analysis, drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, real estate loan documents, and title documents. Review closing statements prepared by our closing team or other closing agents to ensure accuracy. Troubleshooting title or closing issues in a creative and efficient way with our closing team, underwriters, governmental entities, and parties. Conduct closings. Answer questions from the parties that have been escalated by the closing team. Ensure clients meet their contractual deadlines and assist in protecting their escrow. Client meetings and conducting signing ceremonies. Draft estate planning documents and other transactional documents. Should have exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills are needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients. Should have an active member of the American Bar Association (ABA). Must have passed the bar exam. Should have a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school. Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base. Being admitted to practice law in Florida is required. Should have 3 years of prior experience as a transactional (non-litigation) attorney. Must be creative and think outside the box when providing solutions and strategies. Excellent Spanish, verbal and written, is strongly preferred. Must have excellent spelling and grammar. Accuracy and attention to detail are required to avoid mistakes that can cost clients (and us) dearly. Make sure that this is a skill that is known for and will be working on many matters concurrently, over long periods of time. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, understanding that other team members will be relying on the ability to move things through the pipeline.
