Our team is looking for a Web Product Designer with the talent to create elegant design solutions, the skills to participate throughout the product development process, and the passion to help us create innovative experiences for our content creators. We're looking for a Product Designer to help conceive, define and execute the UI and visual design of our web products. Our team is fast and agile and you’ll see the direct impact of your work on revenue. You'll work closely with business owners, product management, engineering, and marketing teams during the entire product lifecycle from concept through post-launch support. In addition to Demand Studios, you will also be part of our larger creative team and culture here at Demand Media.
Your portfolio will show that you've worked on a range of challenging projects; from product strategy and high level UX concepts, through to visual design. You are all about the team; equally comfortable guiding fellow designers as you are to getting your hands dirty and supporting production.
This is an active hands-on role that requires a designer who can solve user experience, visual and interaction design challenges; articulate and pitch their ideas to team members, take design direction, and inspire other designers across the company. You will help to define and design the user experience across a variety of Demand Studios initiatives for desktop, mobile, and app products.
Responsibilities
Digest a product design challenge, own the problem, develop opinions on how to solve, create a solution and advocate for it while considering stakeholder needs
Articulate design decisions in individual and group settings
Distill complex systems and interfaces into design workflows and experiences that are simple and elegant
Work within an Agile development environment to produce and deliver wireframes, mockups and production assets to make products a reality
Oversee consistency in UX, UI and visual design across all Demand Studios products
Lead, oversee and participate in the entire design process for Demand Studios from concept and strategy, to wire frame, UX and UI design, testing, prototyping and final execution
Create mockups and assets for user testing across our web experience
Advocate for great product design throughout Demand Media
Requirements
2 years experience designing functional interfaces for web and mobile; building tools
Must have a portfolio featuring strong examples of responsive user experience, user interaction and visual design work for the web
Lightweight prototyping ability
Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, prototyping software, workflow and requirements
Expert knowledge of the digital design process and how it aligns with the technology, product, and marketing goals
Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision
Experience in building and shipping applications or software
Extensive experience executing product design based around high-level product strategy and vision
Use the modern design creation tools of your choice to deliver product design deliverables
