Typical work assignments include:

Providing periodic reviews and evaluations of the administrative operations and systems; revising administrative directives to determine impact on programs and staff; advising management officials of new administrative requirements and recommending appropriate action.
Advising staff and providing administrative and technical supervision on administrative procedures, regulations and precedents; directing the establishment and maintenance of office files, reference materials, time and attendance records, personnel files, performance evaluations and projecting administrative expenses (i.e., supplies and equipment); coordinating administrative services on Presidential Advances in the United States and overseas; establishing temporary work arrangements; and resolving logistical issues and tracking budgetary expenditures appropriately.
Providing instructions to management, other Divisions, and outside agency representatives on the use of applications of computer equipment and software utilized for various presentations, reports, meetings and activities; and conducting complex searches on the various computer systems and databases to identify, analyze, and retrieve information/data pertinent to inquiry.
Overseeing the preparation of numerous recurring and special administrative reports and preparing several inquiries (i.e., travel vouchers, subpoenas, Freedom of Information requests, congressional inquiries and related protective request); and providing technical assistance and customer service to senior management officials, Special Agents, Uniformed Division and support employees regarding a wide variety of administrative matters.
,qualifications:GS-11: You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary $69,581) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level performing duties such as: supervising administrative support staff and providing advice and instructions regarding administrative policies and operational procedures; advising, coordinating, and providing recommendations on a full range of complex administrative functions and activities (i.e., time and attendance, advance of funds and reimbursement requests, employee benefits, personnel management, etc.); overseeing records searches and proper records retention for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and litigation cases; and providing technical assistance to senior management officials regarding research for special studies/projects OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR
A combination of graduate level education and experience. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.
GS-12: You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting base salary $83,398) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level performing duties such as:  supervising administrative support staff and providing advice and instruction regarding administrative policies and operational procedures; advising, coordinating and providing recommendations on a full range of complex administrative functions and activities (i.e., time and attendance, advance of funds and reimbursement requests, employee benefits, personnel management, etc.); gathering data (record of previous year’s expenditures) in order to provide input in the Division’s budget proposals; managing the handling and storage of confidential documents; overseeing records searches and proper records retention for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and litigation cases; and providing technical assistance to senior management officials regarding research for special studies/projects.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience)Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
