Textron Systems is seeking a Flight Test Packaging Engineer. This individual is experienced in detailed packaging for mechanical and electrical systems using NX CAD software. Familiarity with design and packaging for integration of onboard measurement systems measuring missile performance during flight testing in related thermo-mechanical environments.  Interaction with suppliers and the missile guidance system with hardware, cables, and assembly may be required depending on integration designs. Challenges include meeting assembly and maintainability needs where access to limited volumes with a distributed assembly totaling greater than 20 parts complicates the electrical and mechanical connectivity. Additionally, planning an intelligent layout enabling ease of maintainability will be required. Knowledge of electrical components, connectors, and mechanical tiedown hardware, as well as thermal and vibration isolation equipment would be beneficial. Work with thermal and vibration analysts to define optimal design isolation meeting stringent cost and weight limits. Detailed knowledge of the following areas is attractive.

Proficiency in NX assemblies

Knowledge of military packaging and human factors specifications and requirements

DFA/DFM

Familiarity with electrical components and connectors

Familiarity with mechanical attachment hardware and sizing and preload

Demonstrated packaging experience with thermal and vibration isolation equipment.

Knowledge of RF Antenna and GPS Design a plus

Proficient communication and presentation skills

Effective detailed report and proposal preparation
