Criminal Justice Legal Intern

The Intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience by working in collaboration with the Director of Strategic Litigation on a variety of activities, including: Researching, assessing, and developing potential litigation projects in our issues areas of Policing, Pretrial Justice, Community Supervision, Prisons, and Reintegration. Identifying trends in criminal justice litigation and mapping organizations and individuals that can successfully use legal strategies to advance criminal justice reform. Tracking litigation on important criminal justice matters and researching novel legal criminal justice issues. Developing content for internal and external purposes, such as funding proposals, issue briefs, research summaries, policy summaries, literature reviews, and Board meeting materials for Arnold Ventures' Board, Executive Vice President of Criminal Justice, Vice President of Criminal Justice, and other members of the Criminal Justice Initiative. Should be passionate about improving the U.S. criminal justice system. Should be able to interact confidently with junior, senior, and executive team members and navigate relationships with external experts, government leaders, advocates, and individuals impacted by the justice system. This internship is open to current second or third year law students and recent law graduates.
