Assistant Attorney General (Attorney I) PCR
Duties : Under close supervision, this Attorney I performs professional legal work for the State. Primarily responsible for post-conviction relief litigation to include conducting research for legal issues and preparing pleadings and responses to applications for post-conviction relief. Represents the State at court hearings in assigned circuits and prepares orders for judges' consideration and signature. Represents the State on assigned appeals in Appellate Courts and file appeals based on the outcome of the PCR hearings. Prepares court rosters and issues those to the appropriate courts. The Attorney manages rosters and makes all court appearances in the assigned circuit(s). Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s), Chief Deputy Attorney General, and/or Attorney General.
