Legal Assistant - Criminal Unit
The candidate will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney. Provide administrative support to lawyers and enhance office effectiveness. Handle communication with clients, witnesses, etc. Manage client interaction to facilitate communication. Locate and develop relevant case information. Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence. Assist team in gathering documents from clients. Answer and direct phone calls. Maintain contact lists. Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars. Translations (In-office and Out-of-Office). Draft basic forms (waiver of service, a notice of hearings, request for citation, etc.). Must have 1+ years of experience as a legal assistant (preferred) excellent customer service skills; computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; Adobe Acrobat); proficiency in English and Spanish; excellent secretarial and organizational skills; ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure.
