This position is responsible in aiding the plant manager in the daily operations within the bakery facility consisting of three shifts and 450-500 team members. The selected candidate must assist in controlling expenses; provide compliancy and coordination of the bakery inspections and OSHA requirements. They must interpret and enforce company policies; maintain a non- union program; help determine staffing needs while providing sound recommendations. Prepare and maintain records ensuring reports reflect data and procedures accurately. Solve problems in an effective manner with follow up. Work with department heads to obtain production quality yields and metric goals while confirming the maintenance of labor standards, quality of performance, and product. Inspections and maintain a high degree of competence in the areas of housekeeping, safety, sanitation, security and food safety. Manage, evaluate, and train production supervisors. Oversee all designated shift operations and any other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the plant manager. Lastly, practice the Five C’s Tyson culture: Caring, Candor, Creativity, Collaboration, and Commitment.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or a combination of special training, vocational school and/or college courses (High School diploma is required)

Five or more years of food related industry preferably in the bakery division

Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP guidelines

Intermediate to advanced computer skills ability to work with MS Office, SAP, and Workday.

Superior verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of leadership management, directors, managers, supervisors, and hourly team members including inspectors or government officials

Exhibit leadership behavior (Lead people by example) while promoting a team player environment

Critical thinker ability to make sound decisions based on experience and data

Travel to other facilities less than 15%

RESPONSABILITIES:

Manage subordinates including managers and supervisors up to 5-10 individuals

Adhere and execute to company’s policies & procedures

Conduct interviews for supervisory or management positions

Work thoroughly with the HR department & Training department to ensure compliancy in HR practices and monthly plus annualized training

Conduct work performance appraisals

Coach and mentor team in seeking company metrics

Administer disciplinary actions or composing PIP when required

Support within the ADR process, address concerns, and provide timely resolution to complaints

Accept and delegate responsibility display sound judgment while making skilled decisions

Solve key issues in an efficient manner with sound follow up

Strong managerial skills necessary

Excellent safety and attendance records

Ability to work with department heads to meet safety production and quality yields while meeting goals. All Tyson team members are responsible for safety. This includes but not limited to personal safety and food safety

Responsible for food safety, food quality, and legality
