The candidate will advise on marketing initiatives, advertisements and promotions to our network of over 60,000 restaurants around the world. Review content, presentations, and materials related to promotion of Company’s and KAYAK’s products and services. Support marketing related events and co-branded partnerships, such as Top Chef™, The James Beard Awards, Aspen Food & Wine Festival and Company’s charitable partner No Kid Hungry. Advise on media / content rights and any required clearances or talent releases. Work closely with teams across our organization, including communications, product, sales, and finance, as well as senior management, to ensure alignment. Educate and train the organization on legal aspects of marketing, advertising, content & social media. Draft contest sweepstakes rules for marketing team initiatives. Negotiate, draft and review agreements and service contracts and content licenses. Help manage the Company/KAYAK IP portfolio. Support teams in the U.S. and around the world on marketing-related activities. Should have JD from a nationally recognized law school. Should be Licensed attorney in the State of California or elsewhere. Working knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory concerns, including marketing and promotions law and FTC compliance. Minimum 5 years’ experience practicing law, with at least 1 year of in-house experience strongly preferred. Solid negotiation & contract drafting skills and experience. Strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate and explain complex legal issues to various business partners, including senior management. Experience working with cross-functional teams to get the job done.
