Vice President & Associate General Counsel
The candidate will collaborate with internal policy, product and legal teams on civil rights laws and how they intersect with company policies and practices. Partner with the Content Policy team during policy development phase. Partner with the Policy team in external engagements on company policies/practices that have civil rights implications. Partner with Legal Team when questions arise related to civil rights. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for teams across the company, including Policy, Legal and Privacy organization. Lead development of training and educational resources focused on civil rights laws. Collaborate with a subset of Legal, Policy, and Product teams to provide guidance and inputs to help identify/issue-spot potential civil rights implications with company products. Develop systems, processes or other measures to improve the company’s ability to issue spot and address potential civil rights implications in products and policies before they launch. Work in tandem with subject matter experts such as HR, Security & Safety to provide subject matter expertise on various policy priorities/policies. Partner with External Affairs on engagement with external stakeholders and the civil rights community. Stay up-to-date on relevant and arising civil rights and policy issues affecting Company and build proactive strategies. Engage and work closely with external civil rights organizations and agencies as a representative of Company. Communicate publicly on civil rights issues facing Company and the technology community as a whole. Identify proactive civil rights priorities for the company and guide the implementation of those priorities. Provide civil rights risks and concerns in interactions with leadership, executives, and the Task Force.
