Description

The Senior Vendor Management Professional with Humana manages a diverse scope of complex vendor projects in collaboration with all areas of Claims Cost Mgt (CCM) in an effort to reduce fraud, waste and abuse and increase overpayment recoveries. This person will collaborate with enterprise shared service teams (Procurement, Risk Mgt, Compliance, EIP, etc.) and external vendor partners to coordinate demos and pilots and assist with contracting and due diligence processes. Daily responsibilities include hosting meetings with internal and external partners, determining project objectives and coordinating next steps, managing projects and workflows in our project management software and demonstrating highly effective and professional communication. This opportunity is 100% work at home and can be located throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

What we need your help with:

Foster strong working relationships with diverse cohort of internal business process owners and external vendors to create viable solutions and processes that meet business needs (including clinical audit, code editing, data mining, subrogation, and special investigations)

Coordinate with Humana's shared services operations (e.g., Risk, Legal, Compliance, Procurement etc.) to screen new vendors, secure approval and ensure all due diligence is conducted and security concerns are addressed

Ask meaningful, relevant, and inquisitive questions focused on determining value of a vendor relationship

Identify vendors capable of delivering solutions that meet business needs

Analyze competing proposals, create cost benefit analyses, prepare executive summaries, and make actionable recommendations

Help design proof of concepts to evaluate vendor value and bring together stakeholders to evaluate viability of vendors' services

Draft statements of work language, including pricing, terms, and conditions, that meet business objectives

Provide guidance for onboarding and deploying new vendors and programs

What you need for success! - Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Communications or related fields. Equivalent years of experience in a similar role will be accepted.

4 years of project management, leadership, and/or consulting experience

2 years of experience with either vendor management, contract management /interpretation, procurement process, risk management, compliance and/or similar roles

Prior experience effectively communicating and presenting information to all levels of leadership

Prior experience utilizing strong written and verbal communication skills, to summarize large amount of information into concise and informative communications and/or presentations

Demonstrated experience conducting financial research and analyzing historical spend to identify potential savings opportunities and ROI

Demonstrated experience with resolving multiple issues that require analytical reasoning, creative thinking, comfort with numbers, and ability to untangle complex issues

Comfortable with 5% overnight travel in the future.

Work at Home Requirements

Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.

A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

What you need to be STAND OUT among the crowd! : Preferred Qualifications

Juris Doctorate, PMP or Master's Degree in Business, Finance, or related fields

Experience working with healthcare vendors, including soliciting and evaluating proposals

Experience with negotiating or leading difficult, complex conversations

Experience working in Claims Cost Management, Payment Integrity, Procurement or similar department
