Human Resources Business Partner
The candidate will identify and escalate HR-related issues to the appropriate internal stakeholders. Take the lead on managing basic employee relations matter independently. Take primary responsibility for onboarding local personal by gathering all paperwork and required authorizations for all new hires; process background check with third party vendor; and send approval to hire when all paperwork is complete. Verify new hire I-9 information to ensure that all employees are eligible to legally work in the United States, including tracking VISA/Alien documentation, monitoring expiration dates, requesting updated documentation when necessary, and filing I-9s in the proper binder. Maintain employee personnel files; maintain strict confidentiality of all employee records and information. Enter personal information, emergency contact information, and citizenship information into the Firm’s HRIS for all new hires and verify that all necessary new hire paperwork has been received. Verify that each employee’s termination has been completed in the Firm’s HR system and that all necessary paperwork has been received and distributed. Assist in administering Firm HR policies; research answers where necessary. Track anniversaries, create and send necessary e-mails, order and deliver gifts as required. Primary responsibility for tracking local office employee PTO and reviewing and approving secretary time cards. Assist with firmwide HR initiatives as needed. Post open positions on firm and various recruiting websites and process related invoices. Screen and sort incoming resumes and applications; maintain applicant files. Conduct phone and in-office interviews, communicating with candidates via e-mail and phone and managing the process for additional interviews. Ensure background checks are processed in a timely manner by liaising with both the vendor and the prospective employees. Bachelor’s or better degree is required. Should have 2+ years of human resources experience in a large company, preferably a professional services organization. Should preferably have 1+ years of prior law firm or professional services experience.
