Billing Specialist (CSR)
The candidate will process client bills using full knowledge and understanding of accounting software, including electronic billing and third-party vendor sites. Provide assistance to attorneys and secretaries to ensure accurate time and disbursement entries and completes all billing to meet established deadlines. Prepare and handle all aspects of billing for specified attorneys and/or clients as assigned. Work directly with attorneys relating to client's billing guidelines, e-billing setup, and any other billing questions or issues. Review all New Account Memoranda for billing guidelines, e-billing requirements, billing rates, client and contact information and verifies that all data is updated in client and e-bill databases. Prepare and present pre-bills to attorneys in accordance with client matter billing terms. Process edits, post invoices and forward final bills to billing attorney and/or client as directed. Prepare and review accounts receivable and WIP reports and assist with collections process. Assist with accounting functions necessary for month end closing. Assist attorneys with monitoring hours, realization or other financial analysis as it pertains to fixed-fee or other alternative fee arrangements. Address issues with CMS (Aderant Expert) program and report inquiries. Should have 3-5 years of related experience in a large law firm (or other professional service firm) and/or Associate Degree and equivalent experience. Advanced client/customer service, law firm, billing experience, superior judgment is required. Should be proficient in CMS (Aderant Expert), Elite or similar time and billing software, Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Word and Excel).
