Human Capital Services (HCS) Benefits Consulting Tax Senior Associate
The candidate will assist with growth efforts for the Benefits Team within the Chicago and Midwest markets; Assist with plan design, benchmarking and modeling projects for retirement, health and welfare plans. Assist with vendor search projects. Perform nondiscrimination testing for 401(k) and cafeteria plans. Preparation of IRS Form 5500, Form 8955-SSA, Form 720, and Form 1095-Cs. Assist with operational compliance reviews and IRS/DOL correction projects (EPCRS). Research and consult on technical issues specific to employee benefit plans. Participate in meetings with clients, including fact-finding interviews and presentations. Interact directly with clients and maintain client relationships. Help write and structure client presentations, including development of recommendations. Assist with the development of employee benefits marketing materials and sales collateral. Work closely with partners, principals, managing directors, directors and managers in an integrated approach to client service and new business development. Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis. Should have 3+ years of retirement or health & welfare benefits experience. Must have Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university. Advanced degree or professional designation preferred, e.g., J.D., C.P.A. or CEBS designation. Must have exceptional communication skills (verbal and written). Should have experience in benchmarking, modeling and overall plan design projects. Must have experience in data analysis working with, and manipulation of, large data sets. Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint required. Familiarity and experience with retirement, health & welfare benchmarking and vendor search projects preferred. Proficient with plan documents desired. Experience with nondiscrimination testing and IRS Form 5500. Experience with other government forms such as Forms 1099-R, 5330, and 1095-C. Experience with operational compliance reviews of employee benefits plans. Familiarity with IRS and DOL correction programs (EPCRS, VFCP, DFVCP). Familiarity and experience with benchmarking and vendor search projects. Familiarity with researching technical issues utilizing tax research tools, ERISA databases, etc.
