The Corporate Senior Counsel will identify, analyze, communicate, and manage a wide variety of legal, regulatory, compliance and related risks.

  • Provide overall legal advice relating to contracts, employment law and regulatory healthcare law.
  • Analyze, interpret, and monitor compliance with federal and state business and statutes.
  • Provide counsel to all levels of the organization particularly human resources and operations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate corporate and commercial agreements. Responsible for review and/or drafting complex contract language and contract negotiations particularly those related to contracts
  • Coordinate with HR on employment law issues. Responsible for legal assistance in reviewing or drafting personnel policies and procedures, employee benefits and other related employer/employee functions.
  • Provide legal support to the General Counsel and to business partners on various projects.
  • Maintain current knowledge on legal issues and developments in the law. Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local law/regulations in multiple states, as well as the Centria Healthcare policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
  • Identify, develop and provide training on substantive legal topics.
  • Independently manages complex projects and coordinates work assignments with the General Counsel and above, to deliver timely accurate results
  • Serves as a resource for management throughout the organization with respect to legal issues or concerns as they arise.
  • Understands and directly answers complex legal questions. Assist with developing and disseminating compliance policies to ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and rules that apply to the Company’s activities.
  • Identify and advise on legal and business risk associated with business opportunities, including compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist with other risk management matters coordinated by the Legal/Risk Management Team.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law.
  • 7-10 years corporate legal practice experience.
  • Experience drafting & negotiating commercial contracts with external vendors.
  • Employment law experience.
  • Regulatory experience, preferred.
  • Combination of in-house counsel experience and law firm experience.
  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and partnerships across the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task various and conflicting responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle and protect confidential, sensitive information.
  • Ability to work full time in an office environment; flexible to work overtime, as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with high level interaction with senior management and all levels of corporate personnel
  • Possess characteristics such as: common sense, diligence, integrity, professionalism, good judgment, and accountability.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a high volume/high growth environment
