Product Counsel, Gartner Digital Markets
The candidate will manage contract intake, escalations, training, coordination across internal teams like Gartner Digital Markets, Ombuds, Contracts Administration, Finance, Security, and Data Privacy teams. Handle contract negotiations with strategic vendors, escalating within Commercial Legal as needed. Advise on product issues ranging from FTC regulations, Section 230 publisher immunity, Intellectual Property, commercial free speech, data protection, content regulation and privacy. Maintain contract templates, internal talk tracks and contract library. Conduct periodic training of GDM associates in sales contracting and other legal issues impacting the business. Assist with internal data tracking and special projects including the expansion of GDM offerings internationally. Should have 5+ years of experience at a law firm or in-house law department with an emphasis on commercial transactions. Previous contracting experience and ability to coordinate successfully among various functions. Familiarity with laws and regulations impacting online commerce such as Digital Advertising law, the Communications Decency Act Section 230 and the FTC Endorsement Guidelines. Experience with logistics of online commerce - familiarity with invoicing and payment structures, tax implications, content regulation etc. Familiarity with data privacy laws involving collection/use of user PI, tracking of user activity via configurable cookies and conducting privacy impact assessments on new products and initiatives. Ability to coordinate and oversee large-scale legal review projects involving various internal business functions in fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks appropriately. Ability to work independently, take initiative, assume responsibility, and own role. Additional foreign language skills a plus.
