Senior Counsel
The candidate will be providing research, advising, and other legal assistance to the organization and the General Counsel. Providing counsel to the management team, representing CrossFit as Senior Counsel of record in external litigation matters, and managing and overseeing outside legal counsel where appropriate. Developing and executing CrossFit’s policies on effectively protecting the integrity of the corporation’s intellectual property. Researching and analyzing the law on complex issues, including intellectual property and contract law, and writing a brief for submission to a supervising lawyer or executive of the organization. Analyzing and summarizing complicated legal documents including contracts; making suggestions for alterations of those documents. Drafting legal documents and instruments for use and consideration in complex business. Anticipating and mitigating potential legal problems within the organization and developing strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce potential areas of risk. Dealing with complex, significant matters that cut across legal and related areas.Should have a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree and hold a JD from an accredited ABA law school. Should have 8+ years of experience. A current member of the Bar association is required. Should demonstrate legal knowledge of the fundamentals of intellectual property law, transactional and general litigation matters. In-depth understanding of how legal issues affect corporations is required. The ability to draft complex legal contracts and agreements with minimal oversight from the General Counsel. The ability to research and develop legal strategies and objectives. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to listen deeply and question productively are essential. Ability to build excellent rapport with internal and external stakeholders. strong teamwork is a must.
