Supervising Attorney (Benefits Advocacy Technical Assistance Team)
Duties: Lead a team of six staff members that provide technical assistance to the Department of Health Services C.B.E.S.T. project on disability benefits applications for individuals who are homeless throughout County. Provides training, guidance, hosts meetings, conducts direct representation of clients in critical immigration and vital documents cases, and acts as general legal expert for the C.B.E.S.T. program and its staff on disability law and other related issues. Will be to assist the Directing Attorney with coordinating the varied work of the Technical Assistance team- which includes direct representation of clients, developing and leading trainings, ongoing work reviewing applications and hosting meetings, launching projects aimed at improving government benefits law and systems, and providing general technical assistance to the C.B.E.S.T program and its staff. Work in collaboration with the Directing Attorney to divide supervisorial responsibilities of the team and will be supervised in their work by the Directing Attorney.
