Position Goal

: The Part Time (approx 20 hours a week) Digital Imaging Specialist position is a great opportunity to work closely with our production team and gain experience as an integral piece of our online business. The Digital Imaging Specialist should have a desire to join a strong, team environment.

Essential Duties:

Use CaptureOne and Adobe Photoshop in a Mac environment to produce high quality product images for use on a large-scale retail website. The primary focus of this position is to collect, organize, and manage product images from our in-house photo studio and prepare these images for further retouching by our in-house imaging team. This includes optimizing and re-sizing images to meet existing company standards for web use, as well as working directly with with imaging team and other studio team members to ensure product accuracy, standards, and image consistency are met.

This is a high-volume production position using CaptureOne and Adobe Photoshop on the Mac platform. This is not a design or Photographer position, however a deep understanding or past experience in these fields is recommended.

Other Job Requirements:

1 or more years experience retouching product images for web or print use.

Minimum 2 year degree in digital Photography and/or Graphic Design a plus, but not required.

Skilled in image-manipulation and image-management software.

Expertise in the following Photoshop techniques is important:

Image manipulation using adjustment layers with layer masks.

Image retouching using Healing Brush and Clone Stamp tools.

Intricate selection and creation of clipping paths using the Pen tool.

Strong emphasis on color correction.

Using Actions, Batches and Scripts to automate Photoshop

Willingness to learn new methods, techniques and software as necessary.

Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Able to make decisions based on documented standards with limited supervision.

Skilled in a Mac environment; familiarity with keyboard shortcuts, navigation, file management.

Have a keen interest in photography and a strong visual awareness

Portfolio:

Please provide examples (URL, PDF, physical portfolio) of imaging and retouching work – examples of production retouching work is required.
