Director of Legal Services/Associate Counsel
DUTIES: Provides legal guidance to management on a wide array of issues to facilitate the operations for and affiliates. Assists the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel in the management, execution, and administration of organizational legal and compliance activities. Assists with outside legal counsel interaction and coordination. Assists in identifying and communicating regulatory requirements to applicable departments and affiliates. Assists in identifying and implementing measures to bring effective legal services to and Affiliates. Responsible for analysis of various legal contracts and related documents on behalf of the company and Affiliates and for communicating concerns raised in legal analysis to requesting departments and leaders. Responsible for researching and analyzing legal and regulatory matters as requested by the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel or Executive staff. Assists in identifying and communicating regulatory requirements to applicable departments and affiliates, which duties may include developing and providing education on these requirements. Assists in the legal work of the Corporate Compliance Office and in the legal work of the HIPAA Privacy Program. Serves as the direct legal contact for all employment law matters for the Human Resources Department and Affiliate leadership staff.
