Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established litigation firm is seeking a skilled Litigation Associate with at least two years of experience in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will be licensed in Missouri and Illinois, with additional licensure in Kansas and Arkansas considered a plus. Location:

• Belleville, Illinois

Duties:

• Manage litigation files throughout the entire process, both independently and as part of a team.
• Conduct fact investigations for ongoing cases.
• Handle document productions and other discovery-related tasks.
• Prepare witnesses for deposition and other legal proceedings.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft and review pleadings, briefs, motions, and other legal documents.
• Analyze policies, contracts, and other legal materials.
• Prepare for and attend court hearings, including oral arguments for motions.
• Assist in trial preparation, including supporting trial teams and engaging in direct and cross-examinations of witnesses.

Requirements:

• Minimum of two years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Strong experience in all phases of litigation, from discovery to trial preparation.
• Ability to manage cases independently and work well within a team setting.
• Proficient in drafting legal documents and handling depositions.
• Strong research and writing skills, with attention to detail.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois.
• Additional licensure in Kansas and Arkansas is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois (required).
• Licensure in Kansas and Arkansas (preferred).

Skills:

• Strong litigation skills, particularly in commercial and business cases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in taking and defending depositions.
• Courtroom experience, including trial preparation and oral arguments.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
