Description:

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Research Administrator within the Applied Parkinson’s Research Group (APRG). The post is available immediately until Dec 2023 in the first instance, with the possibility to extend if funding allows. You will provide administrative assistance for the APRG and will predominantly support the ACT-PD project. ACT-PD aims to fundamentally change the way we evaluate Disease Modifying Therapies (DMTs) in Parkinson’s disease, with the ultimate goal of accelerating the identification and introduction of DMT’s into clinical care. Under the guidance of the both the Research Manager at the University of Plymouth (UoP) and the Project Manager at UCL, you will primarily be responsible for supporting three working groups under the UoP remit: Infrastructure, PPIE and Trial Design. You will be actively involved in preparing documents, supporting meetings, internal and external communications, processing financial transactions as well as other administrative support for the Group. You will also have a counterpart research administrator based at UCL and both will be required to cover each other’s work when on leave. You will be actively involved in diary management, preparing documents, supporting meetings, internal and external communications, processing financial transactions and supporting research-focussed activity contributing to further success for the Group. You should have recent administrative experience of working in, or with, the National Health Service (NHS) and/or a research environment.. You will have excellent IT skills and will be able to manage your own workload, seeking guidance and advice where necessary from the Research Group Manager and the team. You must be well organised, possess strong communication skills. The successful candidate will be self-directed with excellent administrative skills, capable of working collaboratively but also independently.
