Employment Research Institute (ERI) is looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and talented Web Designer with a strong work ethic to make meaningful contributions to ERI and its business units. The ideal candidate is creative, a quick problem solver, has excellent communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into visually exciting, engaging and easy to use design for consumers. Along with amazing creativity, this candidate can bring designs to life with awesome web development skills.
Reporting to the CEO and CTO, this role collaborates with key cross-functional teams (engineering, content, editorial, marketing etc.) and plays a key role in strategy execution and execution of ERI's visual design, brand aesthetic, user experience, product strategy and cross-functional processes for various business units.
Responsibilities may include: Full website design projects, creating brand identities, Design of mobile apps for Android and iOS platforms, landing pages, production design, banner ads, newsletters, marketing emails and interface/product design.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Strong understanding of usability principles, mobile design best practices, cross-browser best practices, modern web design principles, and information architecture.
You need to have a portfolio of large database driven websites you have designed that tend to have a lot of features / functions; we are not looking for someone who has designed smaller websites with fewer pages. All of our websites and portals are extensive in features and functionality, hence the designs for them require a good amount of architecture that improves both the usability and leverages Search Engine Optimization best practices. This is the biggest requirement for this position.
Thorough understanding of designing mobile apps for Android and iOS platforms, and ability to translate a functional website into its equivalent mobile app preserving all the features and functionality, and being able to suggest additional areas to add functionality.
Openness to receiving and providing new perspectives, ideas and feedback, and ability to translate them into creative and compelling visual solutions
Experience developing designs for large dynamic websites, mobile responsive frameworks, wireframes and user flows.
Solid understanding of marketing flows and processes, existing and new processes as they are developed.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while delivering on a consistent high standard of quality and provide outstanding customer support
Interest or experience in A/B and usability testing is preferred.
Solid understanding of SEO concepts as it related to UI/UX design concepts.
Interface and UX design experience
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
Expert knowledge in Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and other Adobe Tools as required.
A basic understanding of HTML/ CSS (preferred)
Design degree or 3-5 years of equivalent work experience
